Ok so I was just walking the somewhat empty streets of San Francisco and had a weird experience. I had three smells hit me in succession... first it was donuts cooking, then it was fresh gardenias then it was pot. I love the city.
More to come later.

Public Transportation
Ok,
So for any of you who have been to San Francisco, you know that it has one of the best public transportation system in the country. There are some things that I have figured out...
1. Riding the bus is stressful. You have to know which stop is before the one you need so that you can pull the little cord and let the driver know that you want off.
2. If you know where you are going enough to relax you have to be careful of the schizophrenic woman talking to herself. Therefore it is best to bring a book. I however have learned not to read the book because it makes me want to hurl to try to read on the bus.
3. In San Francisco, a 20 something man riding a bike in a white button-down and tie isn't necessarily a Mormon. It might just be a young businessman on the way to work.
It has been a beautiful couple of days here. The weather has been "warm" and the sun has been out. A couple of nights ago there were fireworks visible from my window and tonight the most gorgeous fog has rolled in.
I'm excited to actually start working and I hope that I get used to living in a studio apartment. I feel like I'm living in a hotel.

My jet setting life
Ok so here's my exciting last week ...
My mom and I left Austin on wednesday morning. We drove pretty much without stopping until Tucson AZ. We stopped there for dinner and Starbucks and managed to get stuck in a crazy monsoon. After getting soaked and spending a little while in a church parking lot we were on the way again. We spent the night in Phoenix and headed towards California in the morning. The drive into Cali was uneventful until we hit Palm Desert (about 2 hrs away from my sister's house). At this point my recruiter called and told me that the Cali board of nursing is now closed on Fridays due to the state's financial crisis. This meant that I somehow had to get to Sacramento that day. I proceded to book a flight on my handy iPhone. Flew to Sacramento got my licence and flew back all on Thursday. I also managed to have a cute 23 yearold buy me a drink on the plane home ;) Today I had breakfast with Jennie and Kat and mom and I hit the road. We got into town around 4, got my keys, checked out the place and started exploring. We found the Whole Foods, Starbucks and several other key places. I moved in my car full of stuff and am now chilling on my couch watching a movie. Tomorrow my mom heads back to Texas and I get to do more exploring before I start work on Tuesday.

YAY for blogging
Ok so I know that I'm not going to Africa or doing something like having a baby or something else interesting but I had a couple of requests for a blog so here it is. I'll try to make myself seem more interesting than I really am.
